The Bishop Ireton Cardinals basketball team (Alexandria, VA), was overwhelmed 71-48 in Friday's league battle with the host DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD)

The Stags now possess a 24-3 record. They play next when they travel to Bishop McNamara for a Washington Catholic battle on Sunday, February 15. DeMatha will battle a Mustangs team coming off a 61-55 league loss to Gonzaga (Washington, DC). The Mustangs record now stands at 18-7.

The Cardinals (5-19) will now prepare for their battle against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Olney, MD). The Falcons come into the Washington Catholic battle with a 14-9 record. In their last battle, Our Lady of Good Counsel triumphed over Paul VI (Fairfax, VA), 53-50, in a league battle.
