California High School Soccer - Amador Valley nudges Monte Vista
January 17, 2019: Pleasanton, CA 94566 Amador Valley Dons (Pleasanton, CA) fans were pleased Thursday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Monte Vista Mustangs (Danville, CA), 3-2 in a league challenge.
Next, the Dons confront the Dougherty Valley Wildcats (San Ramon, CA) in a East Bay challenge, on Tuesday, January 22. Amador Valley will attempt to better on its 10-2 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 6-5 record after their 4-2 league loss to Foothill (Pleasanton, CA).
The Mustangs now have a 7-6 record. They take the field next when they host Dublin for a East Bay challenge on Tuesday, January 22. Monte Vista will confront a Gaels team coming off a 1-1 league San Ramon Valley (Danville, CA). The Gaels record now stands at 8-4.
Game Summary
Amador had the lead, then gave it up. Ultimately they had to earn back the win, and then hold off Monte Vista. The weather was great, but there was a storm on the field. Both teams battled all night, and showered each other with opportunities. Fortune shined on the Dons though as they scratched out the 3-2 victory. Amador plays next on Tuesday when they travel to Dougherty Valley for their one meeting of the year with their cross division opponent. Game time 6 pm. Go Dons!
