March 30, 2021: Rio Rancho, NM 87144 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Cleveland Storm (Rio Rancho, NM) and the visiting Volcano Vista Hawks (Albuquerque, NM), saw Cleveland's basketball squad hold off Volcano Vista by a tally of 68-67.
With the victory, Cleveland improves its record to 2-0 on the campaign. The Storm host Espanola Valley (Espanola, NM) to confront the Sundevils in a non-league challenge on Thursday, April 1. The Sundevils come into the challenge with a record of 1-1. Espanola Valley won 56-46 in their recent non-league challenge against Pojoaque Valley (Pojoaque, NM)
Next up, the Hawks confront the Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) in a 5A District 1 challenge, on Thursday, April 1. Volcano Vista will attempt to improve on its 0-1 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 0-1 record after their 53-33 league loss to Atrisco Heritage Academy (Albuquerque, NM).
