Arizona High School Softball - Horizon bounces Greenway
April 4, 2012: Phoenix, AZ 85053 Spectators at Wednesday's non-league match between the Horizon Huskies (Scottsdale, AZ) and the host Greenway Demons (Phoenix, AZ), witnessed Horizon's softball squad prevail over Greenway by a count of 12-0.
The Huskies now sport a 7-2 record. They play next when they travel to Pinnacle for a match on Thursday, April 5. Horizon will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 11-8 league loss to O'Connor (Phoenix, AZ). The Pioneers record now stands at 5-4.
With the loss, Greenway moves to 0-2 on the season. The Demons host Paradise Valley (Phoenix, AZ) to face the Trojans in a non-league match on Wednesday, April 4. The Trojans go into the match with a record of 0-0.
Game Summary
Avery Denekamp dominated the Demons allowing only one hit over five innings as the Husky Freshman beat Greenway 12-0 Wednesday afternoon. A slow start at the plate by the Huskies finally broke in the 5th as they scored 9 to distance themselves from Greenway. Strong defense supported Husky pitching, and some of the reserve players made most of their playing time helping out at the plate. The Huskies look for revenge at Pinnacle tomorrow for their recent 10-8 loss to the Pioneers.
