December 29, 2018: Collins, MS 39428 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Newton Tigers (Newton, MS) and the host Collins Tigers (Collins, MS), saw Newton's basketball squad overcome Collins by a tally of 58-40.
With the victory, Newton improves its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Leake County (Walnut Grove, MS) to confront the Gators in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 4. The Gators come into the challenge with a record of 14-2. Leake County won 61-50 in their recent non-league challenge against Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS)
Next up, the Tigers confront the St. Patrick Fighting Irish (Biloxi, MS) in a 2A Region 8 challenge, on Tuesday, January 8. Collins will attempt to improve on its 8-4 season record.
