The Union Area Scotties baseball team (New Castle, PA), was overwhelmed 10-2 in Wednesday's league outing with the host Quigley Catholic Spartans (Baden, PA)

The Spartans now hold a 8-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bishop Canevin for a WPIAL A 3 outing on Thursday, May 2. Quigley Catholic will confront a Crusaders team coming off a 13-3 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, PA). The Crusaders record now stands at 5-6.

Next, the Scotties confront the Cornell Raiders (Coraopolis, PA) in a WPIAL A 3 outing, on Thursday, May 2. Union Area will attempt to advance on its 11-3 season record. The Raiders go into the outing with a 4-7 record after their 5-1 non-league win over Aliquippa (Aliquippa, PA).
