September 19, 2008: Myrtle Beach, SC 29577 In Friday's non-league game, the Myrtle Beach Seahawks (Myrtle Beach, SC) football team tipped the visiting Hartsville Red Foxes (Hartsville, SC), by a score of 30-27.
The Seahawks (4-0) will now prepare for their game against Conway (Conway, SC). The Tigers come into the non-league game with a 5-0 record. In their last game, Conway got by Marlboro County (Bennettsville, SC), 24-20, in a non-league game.
The Red Foxes now sport a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they host Spring Valley for a non-league game on Friday, September 26. Hartsville will battle a Vikings team coming off a 10-7 non-league loss to Irmo (Columbia, SC). The Vikings record now stands at 0-4.
Second Quarter
Myrtle Beach (4-0) led 13-10 at halftime.
Third Quarter
At the 1:44 mark of the third quarter, Hartsville took a 24-19 lead on a Dre Scott touchdown run.
Myrtle Beach answered with a 6-yard TD pass from Everett Golson to Jemere Valentine with 1:11 left in the third. Golson added the conversion pass to push the Seahawks ahead 27-24.
Fourth Quarter
Hartsville tied it at 27 on a 30-yard field goal from Craig Anderson at the 1:49 mark of the fourth before Butler won it for Myrtle Beach. Jordan Butler kicked a 32-yard field goal with 2.7 seconds to play to lift Myrtle Beach over Hartsville 30-27 on Friday night.
