Mount Vernon Bulldogs (Mount Vernon, WA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Meridian Trojans (Bellingham, WA), 62-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mount Vernon upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Blaine (Blaine, WA) to play the Borderites in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout on Thursday, December 16. The Borderites come into the bout with a record of 2-3. Blaine won 78-68 in their recent league bout against Bellingham (Bellingham, WA)

Next up, the Trojans play the Lynden Lions (Lynden, WA) in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout, on Thursday, December 16. Meridian will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 2-0 record after their 72-44 league win over Mt. Baker (Deming, WA).
