January 4, 2019: Safford, AZ 85546 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Safford Bulldogs (Safford, AZ) and the visiting Thatcher Eagles (Thatcher, AZ), saw Safford's basketball squad overcome Thatcher by a tally of 65-57.
With the victory, Safford improves its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Tanque Verde (Tucson, AZ) to confront the Hawks in a 3A South challenge on Tuesday, January 8. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 12-4. Tanque Verde won 50-40 in their recent non-league challenge against Basic (Henderson, NV)
Next up, the Eagles confront the Pima Roughriders (Pima, AZ) in a 2A East challenge, on Tuesday, January 8. Thatcher will attempt to improve on its 8-6 season record. The Roughriders come into the challenge with a 7-8 record after their 59-52 non-league win over St. David (St. David, AZ).
