Virginia High School Basketball - New Covenant over Fishburne Military

Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) and the host Fishburne Military Caissons (Waynesboro, VA), saw New Covenant's basketball squad overcome Fishburne Military by a tally of 63-52.

With the victory, New Covenant improves its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Gryphons travel to Virginia Episcopal School (Lynchburg, VA) to play the Bishops in a Virginia Independent challenge on Saturday, January 28. The Bishops come into the challenge with a record of 6-16. Virginia Episcopal School won 74-61 in their recent league challenge against Eastern Mennonite (Harrisonburg, VA)

Next up, the Caissons play the Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 28. Fishburne Military will attempt to improve on its 6-9 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 14-2 record after their 56-49 league win over Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA).
