The crowd at Friday's league contest between the Marvin Ridge Mavericks (Waxhaw, NC) and the host Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC), observed Marvin Ridge's football squad defeat Sun Valley by a count of 42-12.

The Mavericks now own a 6-4 record. They play next when they host Charlotte Catholic for a Southern Carolina 3A contest on Friday, November 8. Marvin Ridge will encounter a Cougars squad coming off a 37-10 league win over Cuthbertson (Waxhaw, NC). The Cougars record now stands at 6-3.
