Slidell Tigers (Slidell, LA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ponchatoula Green Wave (Ponchatoula, LA), 76-61 in a league bout.

With the win, Slidell upgrades its record to 13-7 on the season. The Tigers travel to Hammond (Hammond, LA) to clash with the Tornadoes in a 5A District 6 bout on Saturday, January 16. The Tornadoes go into the bout with a record of 6-5. Hammond won 77-60 in their recent league bout against Covington (Covington, LA)

Next up, the Green Wave clash with the Fontainebleau Bulldogs (Mandeville, LA) in a 5A District 6 bout, on Tuesday, January 19. Ponchatoula will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 9-3 record after their 48-43 league win over Mandeville (Mandeville, LA).
