In Friday's league match, the host Franklin Cougars football squad scored a close 49-45 victory over the Montwood Rams.

In their next game, the Cougars clash with the Eastwood Troopers (El Paso, TX) in a 6A Region I District 1 match, on Friday, October 1. Franklin will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record. The Troopers enter the match with a 2-2 record after their 29-28 league loss to Pebble Hills (El Paso, TX).
