September 23, 2021: Columbus, NC 28722 The Polk County Wolverines soccer team (Columbus, NC), was overwhelmed 9-0 in Thursday's non-league outing with the visiting Hibriten Panthers (Lenoir, NC)
With the win, Hibriten moves its record to 8-0 on the campaign. The Panthers travel to Freedom (Morganton, NC) to battle the Patriots in a Northwestern 3A/4A outing on Monday, September 27. The Patriots go into the outing with a record of 4-2. Freedom won 6-0 in their recent non-league outing against Draughn (Valdese, NC)
In their next game, the Wolverines battle the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A outing, on Monday, September 27. Polk County will attempt to move on its 1-6 season record. The Trojans go into the outing with a 2-6 record after their 9-0 league loss to Hendersonville (Hendersonville, NC).
