September 4, 2020: Laurel, MS 39443 West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the visiting Quitman Panthers (Quitman, MS), 35-6 in a non-league test.
With the triumph, West Jones moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS) to face the War Eagles in a non-league bout on Thursday, September 10. The War Eagles enter the bout with a record of 1-1. Wayne County lost 28-21 in their recent non-league bout against D'Iberville (D'Iberville, MS)
The Panthers (0-1) will now prepare for their bout against Greene County (Leakesville, MS). The Wildcats enter the non-league bout with a 1-0 record. In their last test, Greene County prevailed over Perry Central (New Augusta, MS), 25-13, in a non-league test.
