In Friday's non-league match, the host Riggs Governors football squad scored a big 79-28 victory over the Spearfish Spartans.

In their next game, the Governors clash with the Huron Tigers (Huron, SD) in a Eastern South Dakota - AA match, on Friday, October 2. Riggs will attempt to move on its 3-1 season record. The Tigers enter the match with a 2-3 record after their 21-19 non-league loss to Sturgis Brown (Sturgis, SD).

The Spartans (0-5) will now prepare for their match against Douglas (Box Elder, SD). The Patriots enter the Black Hills - Mount Rushmore match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Douglas was crushed by Brookings (Brookings, SD), 48-6, in a non-league match.
