The Loyd Star Hornets football team (Brookhaven, MS), was beaten 34-22 in Thursday's league challenge with the visiting Amite County Trojans (Liberty, MS)

The Trojans (1-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Wesson (Wesson, MS). The Cobras come into the 2A Region 7 challenge with a 4-2 record. In their last challenge, Wesson achieved victory over Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS), 49-0, in a league challenge.

The Hornets now sport a 3-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Lincoln for a 2A Region 7 challenge on Friday, October 16. Loyd Star will meet a Bears team coming off a 12-0 league win over Enterprise (Brookhaven, MS). The Bears record now stands at 3-3.
