The May River Sharks (Bluffton, SC) basketball felled the host Lake Marion Gators (Santee, SC), 55-37 in Tuesday's league test.

The Sharks (12-6) will now prepare for their test against Ridgeland/Hardeeville (Ridgeland, SC). The Jaguars go into the AAA Region VIII test with a 1-15 record. In their last test, Ridgeland/Hardeeville was beaten by Estill (Estill, SC), 69-50, in a non-league test.

The Gators now own a 5-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Battery Creek for a AAA Region VIII battle on Friday, January 31. Lake Marion will battle a Dolphins team coming off a 58-56 league win over Wade Hampton (Hampton, SC). The Dolphins record now stands at 2-13.
