South Dakota High School Basketball - Gayville-Volin overwhelms Avon
February 14, 2022: Gayville, SD 57031 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Gayville-Volin Raiders (Gayville, SD) and the visiting Avon Pirates (Avon, SD), saw Gayville-Volin's basketball squad wallop Avon by a tally of 51-17.
With the victory, Gayville-Volin improves its record to 10-8 on the campaign. The Raiders host Freeman (Freeman, SD) to confront the Flyers in a B Region 5 challenge on Thursday, February 17. The Flyers come into the challenge with a record of 1-18. Freeman lost 77-42 in their recent non-league challenge against Ethan (Ethan, SD)
Next up, the Pirates confront the Alcester-Hudson Cubs (Alcester, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, February 19. Avon will attempt to improve on its 3-15 season record. The Cubs come into the challenge with a 2-17 record after their 65-23 league loss to Freeman Academy/Marion (Freeman, SD).
