With the victory, Central of Clay County upgrades its record to 8-9 on the year. The Volunteers host Shelby County (Columbiana, AL) to face the Wildcats in a 5A Area 8 game on Thursday, January 12. The Wildcats enter the game with a record of 1-6.

With the defeat, Horseshoe Bend moves to 2-5 on the year. The Generals host Randolph County (Wedowee, AL) to face the Tigers in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers enter the game with a record of 1-8.
