The Newman Central Catholic Comets basketball team (Sterling, IL), was toppled 41-25 in Tuesday's non-league battle with the host Erie-Prophetstown Panthers (Erie, IL)
The Panthers now possess a 8-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Rockridge for a Three Rivers - West battle on Thursday, January 12. Erie-Prophetstown will confront a Rockets team coming off a 42-25 league loss to Orion (Orion, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 0-14.
The Comets (3-16) will now prepare for their battle against Morrison (Morrison, IL). The Mustangs come into the non-league battle with a 14-7 record. In their last battle, Morrison beat Sherrard (Sherrard, IL), 70-59, in a league battle.
