De La Salle Cavalier (New Orleans, LA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cabrini Crescents (New Orleans, LA), 50-48 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, De La Salle upgrades its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Cavalier host Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (Kenner, LA) to play the Swamp Owls in a 4A District 9 bout on Thursday, January 12. The Swamp Owls come into the bout with a record of 13-4. Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy won 64-16 in their recent league bout against Willow (New Orleans, LA)

Next up, the Crescents play the Riverside Academy Rebels (Reserve, LA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Cabrini will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Rebels come into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 52-24 non-league win over Academy of Our Lady (Marrero, LA).
