Fans at Friday's league challenge between the La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX) and the host China Spring Cougars (China Spring, TX), saw La Vega's basketball squad wallop China Spring by a tally of 81-17.
With the victory, La Vega improves its record to 21-8 on the campaign. The Pirates host Connally (Waco, TX) to confront the Cadets in a 4A Region III District 23 challenge on Tuesday, January 16. The Cadets come into the challenge with a record of 19-8. Connally won 59-33 in their recent league challenge against Gatesville (Gatesville, TX)
Next up, the Cougars confront the Robinson Rockets (Robinson, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. China Spring will attempt to improve on its 7-19 season record. The Rockets come into the challenge with a 10-15 record after their 69-41 league loss to Salado (Salado, TX).
