Grapeland Sandies (Grapeland, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Latexo Tigers (Latexo, TX), 66-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Grapeland upgrades its record to 10-9 on the season. The Sandies travel to Lovelady (Lovelady, TX) to play the Lions in a 2A Region III District 20 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 14-7. Lovelady won 63-32 in their recent league bout against Leon (Jewett, TX)

Next up, the Tigers play the Centerville Tigers (Centerville, TX) in a 2A Region III District 20 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Latexo will attempt to upgrade on its 2-11 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 12-16 record after their 38-19 league win over Groveton (Groveton, TX).
