Pittsburg Pirates (Pittsburg, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Liberty-Eylau Leopards (Texarkana, TX), 72-56 in a league bout.
With the victory, Pittsburg upgrades its record to 18-2 on the campaign. The Pirates travel to North Lamar (Paris, TX) to play the Panthers in a 4A Region II District 15 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 15-9.
Next up, the Leopards play the Sulphur Springs Wildcats (Sulphur Springs, TX) in a 4A Region II District 15 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Liberty-Eylau will attempt to move on its 6-13 season record. The Wildcats enter the game with a 22-7 record after their 61-42 league win over Paris (Paris, TX).
