Waterloo East Trojans (Waterloo, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Marshalltown Bobcats (Marshalltown, IA), 56-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Waterloo East upgrades its record to 4-7 on the season. The Trojans host Waterloo West (Waterloo, IA) to play the Wahawks in a Mississippi Valley bout on Saturday, January 14. The Wahawks go into the bout with a record of 12-1. Waterloo West won 69-56 in their recent league bout against Liberty (North Liberty, IA)

Next up, the Bobcats play the Fort Dodge Dodgers (Fort Dodge, IA) in a Central Iowa Metro - Central bout, on Monday, January 16. Marshalltown will attempt to upgrade on its 1-12 season record. The Dodgers go into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 50-46 non-league win over Des Moines North (Des Moines, IA).
