Georgia High School Basketball - Pepperell nips Mt. Zion

January 14, 2023: Lindale, GA 30147

Pepperell Dragons (Lindale, GA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Mt. Zion Eagles (Mt. Zion, GA), 57-56 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Pepperell upgrades its record to 6-9 on the campaign. The Dragons travel to Darlington (Rome, GA) to play the Tigers in a A D1 Region 7 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 15-2. Darlington won 1-0 in their recent league bout against Dalton Academy (Dalton, GA)

Next up, the Eagles play the Greenforest Eagles (Decatur, GA) in a A D2 Region 7B bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Mt. Zion will attempt to upgrade on its 4-15 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 8-7 record after their 52-47 non-league loss to Eagle's Landing (McDonough, GA).
