The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Gig Harbor Tides (Gig Harbor, WA) and the visiting Peninsula Seahawks (Gig Harbor, WA), observed Gig Harbor's basketball team edge Peninsula by a margin of 56-54.

The Tides (10-5) will now prepare for their challenge against River Ridge (Lacey, WA). The Hawks come into the 3A Puget Sound challenge with a 10-5 record. In their last challenge, River Ridge was tipped by Lincoln (Tacoma, WA), 76-43, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Seahawks battle the Central Kitsap Cougars (Silverdale, WA) in a 3A Puget Sound challenge, on Friday, January 17. Peninsula will attempt to better on its 4-11 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 1-12 record after their 52-51 league loss to North Thurston (Lacey, WA).
