The La Vega Pirates basketball team scored 67 points and held the visiting Connally Cadets to 28 in the Pirates league win on Tuesday.
With the win, La Vega upgrades its record to 22-8 on the season. The Pirates travel to Gatesville (Gatesville, TX) to play the Hornets in a 4A Region III District 23 bout on Friday, January 19. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 10-15. Gatesville lost 90-34 in their recent league bout against Salado (Salado, TX)
Next up, the Cadets play the Robinson Rockets (Robinson, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 bout, on Friday, January 19. Connally will attempt to upgrade on its 19-9 season record. The Rockets go into the bout with a 10-16 record after their 50-18 league loss to China Spring (China Spring, TX).
