Texas High School Basketball - Smyer knocked off by New Deal

The New Deal Lions basketball team scored 58 points and held the host Smyer Bobcats to 44 in the Lions league triumph on Tuesday.
The Lions now sport a 19-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lockney for a 2A Region I District 4 contest on Friday, January 19. New Deal will meet a Longhorns team coming off a 96-32 league loss to Sudan (Sudan, TX). The Longhorns record now stands at 1-17.
The Bobcats (11-11) will now prepare for their contest against Olton (Olton, TX). The Mustangs enter the 2A Region I District 4 contest with a 4-14 record. In their last contest, Olton ran past Ralls (Ralls, TX), 66-29, in a league contest.
