The Auburn Eagles (Riner, VA) basketball crushed the visiting Bland County Bears (Rocky Gap, VA), 50-18 in Tuesday's league test.
The Eagles (6-9) will now prepare for their test against Giles (Pearisburg, VA). The Spartans go into the Mountain Empire test with a 0-12 record. In their last test, Giles was trounced by George Wythe (Wytheville, VA), 47-15, in a league test.
The Bears now own a 7-9 record. They play next when they host Galax for a Mountain Empire test on Friday, January 20. Bland County will encounter a Maroon Tide squad coming off a 68-6 non-league win over Northwood (Saltville, VA). The Maroon Tide record now stands at 9-6.
