Match Summary
Their keeper’s tip of a Claire corner in the 4th m, and No. 3’s good look on a shot in their 6 just 5 m. later were hints of fireworks to come. Their handball in the box with 15 m. gone set up Rhea’s PK that eluded the keeper for a 1-0 lead. Before the water break Pandora’s shut down a push deep into our end. In the 34th m., another Claire corner was rebuffed by their keeper, but Anne blocked her clearance and Aida deftly re-directed it to the net: Leon 2, Maclay zip. We were absolutely gleeful when Claire’s throw-in from the left was nicked by Aida in front and pounced on by Player of the Game Tyler, who easily poked in the goal for our 3-0 halftime lead. They got their first goal just 3 m. into the second, and EmmaT's ground-kissing save 4 m. kept them at 1. Their rocket shot over the net in the 51st m. was a whew!-inducer, and they got #2 with 17 m. remaining. But Coach Lance was proud to pull out our WIN banner declaring the Lady Lions 500th Victory in our 36 Seasons of Soccer!
