New Mexico High School Basketball - Manzano holds off Rio Grande

January 17, 2025: Albuquerque, NM 87105

In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting Manzano Monarchs basketball team scored a close 57-53 triumph over the Rio Grande Ravens.

The Monarchs (6-8) will now prepare for their contest against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM). The Golden Eagles go into the 5A District 2 contest with a 7-9 record. In their last contest, Eldorado was tipped by Cibola (Albuquerque, NM), 70-51, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Ravens confront the Melrose Buffaloes (Melrose, NM) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, January 18. Rio Grande will attempt to better on its 3-13 season record. The Buffaloes go into the contest with a 8-2 record after their 50-30 non-league win over New Mexico Military Institute (Roswell, NM).
