The Wahlert Golden Eagles basketball team scored 53 points and restricted the visiting Hempstead Mustangs to 38 in the Golden Eagles league victory on Thursday.

The Golden Eagles now sport a 9-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Davenport West for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 20. Wahlert will battle a Falcons team coming off a 46-44 league loss to Clinton (Clinton, IA). The Falcons record now stands at 2-11.

The Mustangs (4-9) will now prepare for their contest against Prairie (Cedar Rapids, IA). The Hawks come into the Mississippi Valley contest with a 8-2 record. In their last contest, Prairie was defeated by Kennedy (Cedar Rapids, IA), 85-37, in a non-league contest.
