Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hillcrest Christian Cougars (Jackson, MS) and the visiting Prairie View Academy Spartans (Bastrop, LA), saw Hillcrest Christian's basketball squad overcome Prairie View Academy by a tally of 43-32.

With the victory, Hillcrest Christian improves its record to 4-18 on the campaign. The Cougars host Porter's Chapel Academy (Vicksburg, MS) to confront the Eagles in a MAIS 3A District 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 3-0.

Next up, the Spartans confront the River Oaks Mustangs (Monroe, LA) in a MAIS 3A District 4 challenge, on Monday, January 22. Prairie View Academy will attempt to improve on its 5-4 season record. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a 15-11 record after their 66-47 non-league win over Providence Classical Academy (Bossier City, LA).
