North Carolina High School Basketball - South Stokes fells Alleghany

January 20, 2023: Walnut Cove, NC 27052

South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Alleghany Trojans (Sparta, NC), 69-60 in a league bout.

With the win, South Stokes upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Sauras travel to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to play the Granite Bears in a 1A Conference 36 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Granite Bears go into the bout with a record of 4-9. Mount Airy won 43-42 in their recent league bout against East Wilkes (Ronda, NC)

Next up, the Trojans play the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) in a 1A Conference 36 bout, on Monday, January 23. Alleghany will attempt to upgrade on its 8-9 season record. The Buckin' Elks go into the bout with a 3-12 record after their 80-61 league loss to North Stokes (Danbury, NC).
