Hills-Beaver Creek Patriots (Hills, MN) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting DeSmet Bulldogs (DeSmet, SD), 50-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hills-Beaver Creek upgrades its record to 5-10 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Edgerton (Edgerton, MN) to play the Flying Dutchmen in a A Section 3 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Flying Dutchmen come into the bout with a record of 7-6. Edgerton lost 67-46 in their recent league bout against Southwest Minnesota Christian (Edgerton, MN)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Sioux Valley Cossacks (Volga, SD) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. DeSmet will attempt to upgrade on its 6-5 season record. The Cossacks come into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 78-58 non-league win over Dell Rapids (Dell Rapids, SD).
