The Lafayette Commodores basketball squad (Oxford, MS), was crushed 67-29 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting New Hope Trojans (Columbus, MS)
With the victory, New Hope advances its record to 12-5 on the year. The Trojans host Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS) to meet the Wildcats in a 5A Region 1 battle on Friday, January 24. The Wildcats enter the battle with a record of 7-12. Clarksdale lost 61-24 in their recent league battle against Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS)
The Commodores now own a 11-10 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to West Point for a 5A Region 1 battle on Friday, January 24. Lafayette will meet a Green Wave squad coming off a 45-32 league win over Corinth (Corinth, MS). The Green Wave record now stands at 5-16.
