In Tuesday's league contest, the host Shawnee Heights Thunderbirds basketball team scored a big 53-18 triumph over the Leavenworth PIONEERS.
The Thunderbirds (4-4) will now prepare for their contest against West (Topeka, KS). The Chargers go into the United Kansas contest with a 1-7 record. In their last contest, West was trounced by Basehor-Linwood (Basehor, KS), 67-43, in a league contest.
In their next game, the PIONEERS battle the Piper Pirates (Kansas City, KS) in a United Kansas contest, on Friday, January 31. Leavenworth will attempt to better on its 2-5 season record. The Pirates go into the contest with a 8-2 record after their 66-59 non-league loss to St. James Academy (Lenexa, KS).
