The North Penn-Liberty Mountie (Liberty, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Wellsboro Hornets (Wellsboro, PA), 45-43 in Monday's league test.

The Mountie (7-8) will now prepare for their test against Cowanesque Valley (Westfield, PA). The Indians go into the Northern Tier test with a 5-4 record. In their last test, Cowanesque Valley got by Sayre (Sayre, PA), 53-48, in a league test.

The Hornets now own a 8-5 record. They play next when they travel to Liberty for a non-league test on Monday, January 22.
