Homer Knights (Homer, NE) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Wakefield Trojans (Wakefield, NE), 58-51 in a league bout.

With the victory, Homer upgrades its record to 4-7 on the campaign. The Knights host Kingsley-Pierson (Kingsley, IA) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 10-4.

Next up, the Trojans play the Laurel-Concord-Coleridge Bears (Laurel, NE) in a C2 District 6 bout, on Thursday, January 25. Wakefield will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Bears come into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 56-29 non-league win over Osmond/Randolph (Osmond, NE).
