North Carolina High School Basketball - East Wilkes nips Alleghany

In Wednesday's league contest, the host East Wilkes Cardinals basketball team scored a close 55-48 win over the Alleghany Trojans.

The Cardinals (10-6) will now prepare for their contest against Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC). The Granite Bears come into the 1A Northwest contest with a 7-7 record. In their last contest, Mount Airy edged North Stokes (Danbury, NC), 57-45, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Trojans battle the South Stokes Sauras (Walnut Cove, NC) in a 1A Northwest contest, on Friday, January 24. Alleghany will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record. The Sauras come into the contest with a 13-2 record after their 69-48 league win over Elkin (Elkin, NC).
