The crowd at Wednesday's league challenge between the Green Mountain Chieftains (Chester, VT) and the host Leland & Gray Rebels (Townshend, VT), observed Green Mountain's basketball team overwhelm Leland & Gray by a score of 80-28.

The Chieftains (7-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Springfield (Springfield, VT). The Cosmos come into the Southern Vermont - C challenge with a 3-6 record. In their last challenge, Springfield was routed by White River Valley (Royalton, VT), 56-25, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Rebels encounter the Woodstock Wasps (Woodstock, VT) in a Southern Vermont - C challenge, on Friday, January 24. Leland & Gray will attempt to improve on its 1-10 season record. The Wasps come into the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 53-47 league win over Twin Valley (Wilmington, VT).
