The Newman Fighting Cardinals basketball team (Wausau, WI), was overwhelmed 75-38 in Monday's league battle with the host Assumption Royals (Wisconsin Rapids, WI)
The Royals now possess a 14-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wild Rose for a non-league battle on Monday, January 23. Assumption will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 55-45 non-league win over Markesan (Markesan, WI). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-6.
The Fighting Cardinals (5-10) will now prepare for their battle against Auburndale (Auburndale, WI). The Apaches come into the Marawood - South battle with a 9-5 record. In their last battle, Auburndale was overwhelmed by Bonduel (Bonduel, WI), 57-53, in a non-league battle.
