The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Lyman Raiders (Presho, SD) and the host Burke Cougars (Burke, SD), observed Lyman's basketball team overwhelm Burke by a score of 70-35.
The Raiders (9-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Vermillion (Vermillion, SD). The Tanagers come into the non-league challenge with a 9-3 record. In their last challenge, Vermillion was routed by Elk Point-Jefferson (Elk Point, SD), 57-39, in a league challenge.
In their next game, the Cougars encounter the Avon Pirates (Avon, SD) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Burke will attempt to improve on its 9-5 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 7-5 record after their 45-38 non-league win over Andes Central/Dakota Christian (Lake Andes, SD).
