Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Plateau Valley Cowboys (Collbran, CO) and the visiting Nucla Mustangs (Nucla, CO), saw Plateau Valley's basketball squad hold off Nucla by a count of 48-43.

With the victory, Plateau Valley upgrades its record to 5-4 on the campaign. The Cowboys host Ridgway (Ridgway, CO) to play the Demons in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 26. The Demons come into the challenge with a record of 3-6. Ridgway lost 57-20 in their recent non-league challenge against North Fork (Hotchkiss, CO)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Telluride Miners (Telluride, CO) in a 2A/1A San Juan Basin challenge, on Thursday, January 26. Nucla will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Miners come into the challenge with a 0-10 record after their 54-5 league loss to Mancos (Mancos, CO).
