In Friday's league test, the West Lowndes Panthers (Columbus, MS) basketball squad defeated the visiting Vardaman Rams (Vardaman, MS), by a score of 67-50.

Next, the Panthers clash with the West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS) in a non-league test, on Saturday, January 25. West Lowndes will attempt to improve on its 10-9 season record. The Green Wave come into the test with a 5-16 record after their 67-53 league loss to Lafayette (Oxford, MS).

The Rams (6-14) will now prepare for their test against Thrasher (Booneville, MS). The Rebels come into the non-league test with a 10-12 record. In their last test, Thrasher went down by Wheeler (Wheeler, MS), 73-71, in a league test.
