Texas High School Basketball - Vela fells McAllen

The Vela Sabercats basketball team scored 44 points and limited the visiting McAllen Bulldogs to 27 in the Sabercats league triumph on Friday.

The Sabercats now have a 23-8 record. They play next when they travel to Sharyland for a 5A Region IV District 31 game on Tuesday, January 28. Vela will confront a Rattlers team coming off a 44-26 league loss to Pioneer (Mission, TX). The Rattlers record now stands at 18-12.

With the loss, McAllen falls to 17-15 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to confront the Wolverines in a 5A Region IV District 31 game on Tuesday, January 28. The Wolverines go into the game with a record of 1-17. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial lost 60-16 in their recent league game against McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX)
