The New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) basketball felled the visiting Roanoke Catholic Celtics (Roanoke, VA), 45-32 in Thursday's league test.
The Gryphons (9-0) will now prepare for their test against Carlisle (Axton, VA). The Chiefs go into the test with a 2-10 record. In their last test, Carlisle was beaten by The Covenant (Charlottesville, VA), 60-57, in a league test.
The Celtics now own a 5-7 record. They play next when they host Benedictine for a non-league test on Saturday, January 27. Roanoke Catholic will encounter a Cadets squad coming off a 60-50 non-league win over Saint John Paul the Great Catholic (Dumfries, VA). The Cadets record now stands at 7-5.
