Madrid Tigers (Madrid, IA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Southeast Valley Jaguars (Gowrie, IA), 79-21 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Madrid upgrades its record to 13-3 on the season. The Tigers host Earlham (Earlham, IA) to play the Cardinals in a West Central bout on Friday, January 27. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Earlham won 62-57 in their recent non-league bout against Lenox (Lenox, IA)

Next up, the Jaguars play the Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Titans (Ruthven, IA) in a Twin Lakes bout, on Friday, January 27. Southeast Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Titans go into the bout with a 11-3 record after their 66-25 league win over Storm Lake St. Mary (Storm Lake, IA).
